An EMD GP9 awaits an assignment at North Yard in Salt Lake City on July 25, 1980. The UP 189 was built by EMD for the Union Pacific in April 1954 and retired from the active roster in October 1983. It would later be sold for scrap to Erman Corporation, Turner, Kansas in January 1985.
