Remarks & Notes
Going by EMD's standard convention for naming its export locomotive models, A G22 has a non-turbocharged 12-cylinder 645 engine under the hood... but Ferrovias' narrow-gauge G22CUs in service on the Linea Belgrano Norte emit an angry, low, guttural growl unlike anything I've ever heard back home. Here, train 3089, the 13:44 departure for Del Viso, accelerates out of Retiro behind one of the brightly-painted motors, passing under one of the ubiquitous GRS searchlights protecting train movements on the line.

Peeking out from behind the train, on the broad-gauge tracks of the parallel Mitre network, is an NCA RSD16 with the empty Bobinero, a unit coil steel train returning from Tolosa, near La Plata, to the Siderar steel mill in San Nicolás.
