One last charge - 7470 struts her stuff! With all of her photo run-bys completed and a snowstorm forecast to start within an hour or two, Conway Scenic's 2015 edition of "Steam in the Snow" heads for the barn. Just a little over 2 miles out of North Conway Station, and a little shy of Mile Post 62, there's one last significant grade before the train hits relatively level track in Intervale. Time for Engineer Courtney Gregg to let 7470 show that she doesn't need that dirty diesel you see shadowing her in the distance to take this 6-car special up the hill. The old girl does not disappoint. I stand on the hillside with half a dozen others and blast away with my 70-200 until she's too close. Then I put my camera down and just take it in. Well done, old friend! I bid my fellow photogs goodbye, put my lens cap on and head for the car. It'll be a while before we see 7470 out again, but she's given us some good memories to hold onto until then.
