Life begins at 50. GM&O GP35s aren't common sights on Norfolk Southern trains, so VLIX 631 was a welcomed treat on this NS manifest. Painted in ragged Gulf, Mobile, and Ohio paint and riding ALCO trucks, VLIX 631 is shown here in transit to the Kansas City area for work to make it operational for a new owner. The move coincided with an important milestone for the locomotive: built in 1/1965, #631 is celebrating its 50th birthday this month.
