Despite a heavy winter storm dumping several inches across NS' Bluefield Yard, railroading continues on the former Norfolk & Western mainline as NS SD70M No. 2643 leads an empty hopper train westbound into the yard, as an eastbound loaded train for Roanoke waits for better signals to descend the plateau. Nearly 14" of snow would accumulate before daybreak; one of the most significant snow storms of 2014.
