Remarks & Notes
At first we were a little disappointed with the few trains (almost all westbound and none uphill), as we waited this morning at the Cajon Pass on Sullivans curve. But then appeared as a great surprise the Christmas Train of BNSF California Division, pulled by the two sparkling clean ES44C4 # 8169 and 8179, with a total of 11 cars. Included was the full Dome BN # 31 "BAY VIEW", which was delivered in 1954 by Budd Company as # 506 to the ATSF (Santa Fe). The train was going deadhaed from San Bernardino to Victorville this day, for a trip with invited children to Barstow and back.
