Yes, manually-protected grade crossings are still very common in Argentina - though interestingly enough, it was still protected by an E-bell triggered by a track circuit. Here, at Banfield on LGR's trunk between Temperley and Buenos Aires' Constitución station, one of the two crossing tenders clears a northbound GR12, running light towards the city.
