Remarks & Notes
The Anaheim Regional Transportation Intermodal Center (ARTIC) opened for business at 5:00 am on December 6th, 2014. Here is the view greeting travelers arriving in America's newest passenger station (at least until December 10th, when Dearborn, Michigan's new station opens), with rail tickets available on the left, and the bus ticket counter on the right. Above these will be restaurants, and up another level and passengers take a bridge to the tracks. This 67,000 square foot building, built at a cost of $185.2 million, is a showcase of new materials and construction techniques, and the arched roof is covered with translucent panels that reportedly repel dirt, and allow diffused sunlight during the day, and they glow from colorful LED lighting at night.
