Remarks & Notes
Rail King RK 320 No. 96 switches a freshly-painted C&NW covered hopper at Union Pacific’s De Soto car shops at De Soto, Missouri, on September 29, 2011. This Cummins-powered mobile railcar mover (also known as a trackmobile) weighs in at 49,000 pounds, and has 32,400 lb tractive effort with one coupler used (48,600 lb when both couplers are used, due to extra weight).

Pictures of things often unseen in the world of railroading. Interesting equipment, operations, and people that help the railroad go around.
