Tough winter day on the Kyle—23
Plow MWK 06 drifted off the right-of-way quite a bit, taking EMD CEFX SD45T-2 No. 9282 with it, derailing trailing sister No. 9245 and leaving former Santa Fe NREX SD45-2 No. 6486 still on the rails. Fortunately, the crew wasn’t injured, but the plow extra’s day was quickly ended here at Kanorado, Kansas, on January 2, 2007, just short of the Colorado border located at the trees in the background.
