Southern Pacific's former Rio Grande Roper Diesel Shop in South Salt Lake appears to be in a time warp. Present on the evening of June 8, 1996 are GP30s 3003 and 3008, SW1200 139, and GP40-2s 3124, 3114, 3105, 3120, and 3116. The SP merger with Union Pacific that would quickly erase the D&RGW from Roper was just over three months away.
