| Built in June 1960 as NKP 708, GNRR GP18 8705 was recently released after an overhaul during which it surprisingly received an unexpected face lift. Along with it's fresh coat of paint, the most notable feature is the loss of the high short hood. Its a sad day for fans of GNRR. But on the positive side the 8705 should pound these former L&N rails for several more years. It's sister unit, 8704 was scrapped and used as a parts source. |
