Remarks & Notes

The famous Cementerio de Trenes outside the city of Uyuni, where dozens of mothballed steam locomotives that once roamed the metre-gauge lines of the Bolivian altiplano sit, rusting away. Stripped of all manageable parts by scrap metal thieves and left to fend for themselves amid the elements, the locomotives are in very rough shape.
