On a cold and dreary autumn morning at Cheat Bridge, two unique locomotives of the Durbin & Greenbrier Valley fleet pose alongside each other after operating a photo freight from Elkins. On the left, the railroad's iconic Western Maryland BL2 No. 82 idles on a photo freight, as the relatively new C&O freight scheme F7(A) No. 7094 performs a run around move on the adjacent siding.
The following album contains an assortment of images uploaded to Railpictures.Net from an October photo excursion on the Durbin & Greenbrier Valley Railroad between Elkins, W.Va. and Cheat Bridge, W.Va. on October 13, 2014.
This is dedicated (with permission) to the skilled and gifted photographer - Chase Gunnoe - who regularly posts and is on staff with RP. I believe he deserves a gallery showcasing his remarkable photos. This is for you Chase! (More great photos to come!)
An assortment of photos of the distinctly unique (and 'cute') little locomotive EMD ever built, the BL2! I understand it also makes a tasty sandwich..Oh, that's a BLT! (When a new BL2 photo is "ordered", it will be served fresh!)
