A scene which was once common all over the United States is now nearly extinct-- a true logging railroad. The Simpson Timber Company operated the last true logging railroad in the US, but the railroad has not run to the dry sort since earlier in 2014, and Simpson has placed the mill up for sale. The future of the railroad is doubtful, and if shut down, will be the end of yet another railroading era.
