Early on a winter morning in June 2012, the last of the three ex QR National Rail electric units, 3103, is in the slings and being craned off the "Clipper Amber", while the two others, 3101 and 3102 are readied for the short shunt down the pier to a holding yard. A total of 34 locomotives were in this batch and these three electric units were for RRL Grindrod South Africa.
