On a crisp fall morning two appropriately colored engines take this load of pellets down to the dock. I have seen a few people on here asking why the trains run around this track here. The track they are curving around is the Scale Track, a weigh in motion scale where the trains would, obviously, weigh before heading down to the docks. With trains either weighing at the mines or the mines being charged a flat rate per car, it has rendered the scale at Proctor (Missabe Division) and the one at Highland (Iron Range Division) largely surplus and unused. Movement over the scale at more than .5 MPH (or so IIRC) can cause damage to it, which is why the take care to avoid it.
