| This pair of Santa Fe painted GP38s and associated BN Green caboose were responsible for virtually all yard work and switching in the Wichita area when I visited. Here the 2nd shift crew switches the last remaining customer in the Old Town section of the city. This area use to be a very industrialized warehouse district right next to the ATSF and CRIP mainlines. Today, the area has been redeveloped into mixed use residential/commercial, while the ATSF/UP mainlines have been evaluated a few blocks to the west. |
