A westbound CNW freight splits semaphores west of Eau Claire, WI having left Altoona and heading to the Twin Cities of St. Paul-Minneapolis, MN. Winter was maintaining a lingering hold for this early spring photo. It was somewhat unusual for a high nose Geep to be leading an SD45 on a mainline freight, but power was in short supply.
