Remarks & Notes |
A chilly CNW switch crew moves a TOFC load that just arrived in town to the piggyback ramp. Altoona handled a fair amount of piggyback traffic in the early 1970s, using a circus style facility requiring trailers to be facing the right direction (west), and careful handling by truck drivers loading and unloading. GP9 1759 reflects the as delivered scheme used in the late 1950s after CNW lost the City trains service it once handled for UP. |
