Remarks & Notes
The D&RGW ordered and received a fleet of 22 GP35s from EMD between May 1964 and Jan. 1965. Unfortunately, the 3048 was wrecked on September 22, 1970 in Brown Canyon, Colorado. The unit was repaired by EMD and returned to service by June 1971 with the new stacked 'Billboard Grande' logo. It would become the only GP35 to receive the updated livery on the D&RGW. Southern Pacific would retire it from service four months after this Kodachrome image was shot at Roper Yard on Aug. 7, 1994.
