Remarks & Notes
The nose of the 405 looks great in its EMD created paint scheme. This cream colored design came in two varieties for the L&N depending on what type of service the locomotive was to be used in. For freight service, like this engine would see, the predominate body color was black and for passenger service, the predominate color was blue. Either way, both looked great on EMD first generation models.
