A four car narrow gauge DMU slowly accelerates away from the simple wooden platform at Phayathai Road, heading for Bangkok's main station. Immediately behind the photographer is an ultra-modern elevated station for the standard gauge Airport Line, the contrast between the two couldn't be greater. I had an agonising 10 hour wait while changing flights at Bangkok airport, but having the chance to photograph this scene made it feel (almost) worthwhile.
