After rounding one leg of the wye at SJ Jct., the UP 6270 kindly paused on the ex-Rock Island bridge over the Kansas River to allow for some mainline traffic to pass ahead of it.
While the bridge was originally RI, the Golden State Route was in the possession of the SP (or SSW) from 1980-1996, so it's quite certain that this unit rolled through here as the SP #285 back when it was brand new in 1995.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
