Remarks & Notes

Long gone are the glory days of the Dauntless Mine at the base of Mt. Sherman near Fairplay, CO. Many structures of the mine and its settlement are in ruins as is the mining railroad that once operated here. This locomotive is no longer on the rails and sits on gravel slowly rusting away but visited by those on their way to summit Mt Sherman.
