Remarks & Notes
A true Amtrak oddball. This is an ex-Army hospital car, converted into a wheel car by Amtrak. This sign inside shows its age, noting that it has reference to P30CH wheels. Amtrak had several of these cars, but only this one made it into the Phase IV era. It was used as a buffer car on the Hoosier State when single level and Superliner equipment had to be moved in the same train without a transition car. In a rare move, the car was passing through Washington for some unknown reason. It has since been stored.

Pictures of things often unseen in the world of railroading. Interesting equipment, operations, and people that help the railroad go around.
