Remarks & Notes
NS 8500 (ex NS 8305) and NS 8501 (ex NS 8309) are the first two GE C40-8.5's to be completed by the Roanoke shops. They have arrived at Altoona's Juniata Shops for their emissions testing and a new paint job. Both units received new NS designed wide (Crescent) cabs, NS 8501 having an odd variation which has a shortened brow on the cab. Both units have upgraded emissions and control systems, which includes electronic fuel injection.
