Sitting silently at the former CSX, now Sequatchie Valley Railroad Bridgeport Yard is Former Progress Rail (SQVR) 3011 still showing is heritage. This GP40 was built in 1971 and was purchase by the Wisconsin Central railroad serving on mainlines, and where ever else they needed a motor at that time. Later on the unit was sold to the Progress Rail (PRLX) as a leaser, than finally in early 2012 the SQVR purchase the GP40 and was sent to Bridgeport to do local jobs if needed. Not a common sight to see a former WC motor in Alabama, but it is a real jewel now these day to see a scheme of a railroad that is now own by the Canadian National Railroad.
Not
