Evening southbound freight. WW&F Locomotive #10 whistles for the lonely grade crossing in the tiny town of Alna Center, Maine. Brakemen scramble to their posts and begin to apply the hand brakes as the train slows for a stop at the station platform just ahead. After a quick offload of some supplies for a local farmer, the train will continue south to Wiscasset, about 7 miles distant. There, someone will be awaiting the delivery of a shiny new pick-up. And yes, that is indeed a 1932 Model B Pick-up riding that first flat. This re-creation was beautifully executed by the volunteers of the Wiscasset Waterville & Farmington Railway Museum, as part of their Annual Picnic Event.
