Train #8806 awaits its shot into one of the busiest commuter hubs in the Northeast, LIRR's Jamaica Station. The infrastructure pictured here dates back to the early 1900s and works just as well today, shuffling trains east and west, as it did when steam and early MUs traversed the same track plant. PRR influence is still very much alive and well here, as Jay's home signal (80R) displays a classic Rule 292 - Stop Signal.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
