| A Reading and Northern "Tamaqua Extra" is seen working the Reading Anthracite loading pad in Girardville, PA. The three big EMD's have completed their task of placing empties for loading on the steep grade of the Shenandoah Running Track. R&N SD50 #5014 will stay behind for the loading crew the next day. The two SD40-2's (#3053-#3055) will head south to Gilberton where they will pickup 50 loads of export coal bound for North Reading Yard. The two SD40-2's will slug their way up Buck Mountain reminiscent of Reading Company days when large trains of Black Diamonds were the norm on this section of railroad. |
