Norfolk Southern intermodal train 207 operates daily between Garden City, GA (Savannah) and Austell, GA (Atlanta). The train passes through downtown Macon twice along its journey: once southbound as it arrives from Savannah, and again northbound after running the "Loop" to turn the train and swapping crews. Here the train is seen negotiating Macon Junction as it arrives from Savannah, passing the historic Macon Terminal Station. The station was built in 1916, and once hosted offices for eight different railroads. In the mid 20's, it served as many as 100 train movements per day. These days, it houses offices for local businesses and only sees Norfolk Southern trains as they pass nearby on their way to or from Savannah, Atlanta, or Florida. Photo by Casey Thomason.
