Waiting, yes, we are all waiting for the 9:01 PM Tottenville-St. George train to depart. While we are waiting, we have time to ponder the astounding fact that we are in the Deep South. That's right, we are at the southernmost point of great, glamourous New York City in the sleepy village of Tottenville Staten Island and are about as far as you can get from Times Square and still be in the City. Figure a trip to Times Square from here, via the Staten Island Railway, the famous Staten Island Ferry and a ride on a subway in Manhattan to take a tiny bit less than two hours. At least two of the passengers tonight do not seem to mind being stuck anywhere.
