Remarks & Notes
Train 95 left Boston behind HHP-8 654, and didn't make it too far before problems developed on the engine, so a second HHP-8, 661, was added to power the train the rest of the way to Washington, D.C. However the 661 also developed a problem north of New York City, and the train limped its way down the corridor. After transferring passengers two different times, the train was officially annulled at Trenton, and limped it's way to Philadelphia at 30 mph on the SEPTA main. Once at Philadelphia, the 2 Hippos were removed from the train. With the ACS-64s slowly taking over and the history of problems with these engines, tis may be the last time a pair of HHP-8s ever power a train on the NEC.
