On the board of the Rail Cargo Hungaria's 1116 007-4 numbered Taurus engine, we are running in heavy fog from Hegyeshalom via Ferencváros to Kiskundorozsma (near Szeged) on the line 100a somewhere before Cegléd with the 41305-2 numbered Rola train.
The RoLa (Rollende Landstasse) is a special way of transportation of road trucks. The whole truck is on a low carriage with the trailer while the drivers are in a couchette coach in the front of the train. The carriages are equipped with 8 axles with small wheels, thats's why RoLa trains must go on junctions with a maximum speed of 30 km/h (instead of 40), and they can only switch one track at a station.
Another speciality, that RoLa trains are potential targets of thieves. Sometimes, they make a "false red" on the signal by damaging it or the interlocking. While the train must go with a maximum speed of 15 km/h for safety reasons, thieves can get on the train, and cut the trucks' tilts, then drop the goods next to the tracks, or they drain the trucks' fuel tanks. That's why the train's staff should pay attention when a red signal comes unprovoked. Sometimes, thieves drain the trucks' fuel tank on stations when the train must pull over from another train, that is why guards were on some RoLa trains.
This special method ended up in Hungary, the last train went from Kiskundorozsma to Wels (via Ferencváros and Hegyeshalom) on 8th of December, in 2012, and left Hungary near 9:00. Since then, RoLa trains are not exist in Hungary, but there are more intermodal trains instead of them, when only the trailer, or the container gets on the train.
