Remarks & Notes
Santa Cruz Portland Cement No. 2 returned to the Pacific Coast in July after a 90-year absence; she's seen near Wilder Ranch State Park on the former UP (SP) Santa Cruz branch, not far from her original home rails in Davenport, Cal. The Monterey Peninsula can be seen in the distance at left. The 1909 Porter is the first steam power to operate in Santa Cruz since the 1950s. Thanks to owner Stathi Pappas, his crew, and host railroads Santa Cruz, Big Trees & Pacific and Santa Cruz & Monterey Bay for an amazing three-day weekend of steam.
