The 4879 was the last GG1 in service, circa 1983. Good news is that the United Railroad Historical Society is restoring the 4879. Contractor StarTrak is handling the task. The unit will finished in Brunswick Green, with the solid stripe scheme, with the large Keystone on each side. Although the Boonton worksite if off limits to the general public; the 4879 will be on display at the Transportation Heritage Festival, scheduled for September 21.
