Remarks & Notes
Remote Control
Known as the RCP-C or “sled”, this former pulpwood flatcar has been modified to act as a remote control platform. With an electrical cabinet on the B-end and multiple unit air hoses and jumper cable receptacle on the A-end, this flatcar can be connected to any locomotive and make that engine act as a remote controlled unit. In reality the attached locomotive is acting as a trailing unit receiving electrical commands from the RCP-C which is controlled by an engineer on the ground wearing an Operator Control Unit (OCU) belt pack. Today the remote controlled Y194 reverses back into track two as it’s about to retrieve a cut of cars dropped off from Q576 earlier in the day. The next train seen this afternoon would be the returning train of CSX Y221.
