During the "Steamliners at Spencer" event, the roundhouse was loaded on Thursday evening, May 29, with a representative of all the units, and Norfolk and Western class J #611 on the turntable. The north side of the roundhouse featured the "Norfolk Southern" family of units: from left to right is Nickel Plate Road PA1 #190, Reading F7A #284, Wabash E8A #1009, Lackawanna F3A #664, Norfolk Southern F9A #4271, Erie E8A #833, Southern E8A #6900, Pennsylvania E8A #5711, and Iowa Pacific E8A #515 disguised as Central of Georgia #812. NS works closely with the PanAm Railway in the Northeast along the "Patriot Corridor", and General Motors' FT demo #103 was formerly Southern Railway #6100. The latter two units joined the family portrait as honorary guests. Of course, the Norfolk and Western was well-represented with the soon-to-be rebuilt #611. Photo by Casey Thomason.
