Designed by G.J.Churchward and further developed by Collett,the 4500 class locos were equally at home on freight or passenger working.5542 was built in 1928 and worked until withdrawn in December 1961.The loco survived into preservation,and is seen here during the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway Steam Gala,arriving at Gotherington Halt with a demonstration freight working.
