Remarks & Notes |
After leaving Montreal Central Station few minutes ago, VIA #67 pass on the CN Wellington bridge beside the Wellington tower. The Wellington tower was built in 1943 to coordinate rail and maritime traffic passing through the area. For 57 years, the controllers perform switching operations up to 800 trains per day and a dozens of ships entering the Lachine canal. The center is active until the early 2000s then abandoned. Today, the City of Montreal is the owner. |
