Brand new and just delivered to BC Rail, three SD40-2's numbers 764, 763 and 765 are being readied for their next assignment in the Lillooet roundhouse. While the red, white and blue color scheme of BC Rail may represent the patriotic colors of America, in this case the red, white and blue represents the colors of the Social Credit political party in power during the period in which these locomotives were delivered to the provincially controlled government railway. The corporate identity of the railway since the mid 60's the tastefully done two tone green scheme was hard to beat. However, the red, white and blue was a bold dramatic change and provided a nice contrast against the green forests so typical of the railway's landscape.
