Just a little more......GOOD! Nevada Northern Railway Museum Director Mark Bassett marshals Locomotive 93 into its stall in the East Ely Engine House after a day of operations during the 2014 Winter Photo Shoots. With all of the smoke and steam filling the building, the engineers sometimes have trouble seeing the overhead smoke jacks, and it is critical that that the locomotive's stack be positioned directly under one of them, or conditions inside the building would rapidly go from smoky and steamy to downright unhealthy.

For those who have never been to Ely, the Nevada Northern Engine House is one of the most spacious and well-lit servicing facilities that you'll find at any preservation railroad in the country. It's a great venue for photography and in fact, some of the best images that come from the annual winter photo shoots are shot right here in this building, during morning and evening servicing.
