Union Pacific "Big Boy" 4014 is finally heading home to Cheyenne, Wyoming, for restoration to operable condition. Train PWCYR2 28 (Passenger, West Colton Yard CA to Yermo CA) departed West Colton Yard in Bloomington, California, a little over an hour late, but the train is making up time as it crosses Cajon Pass. After an inspection stop @ Canyon UP SD70M 4014, 4-8-8-4 4014, SD70M 4884, lead three passenger cars, two box cars and seven flat cars (6 loads, 6 empties, 694 tons and 820 feet) around the old Davis ranch. The train will spend the night in Yermo, in California's Mojave Desert, and the next day it will head to Las Vegas, Nevada, where it will be on display on April 30th. Then it is on to Salt Lake City and Cheyenne.
