| Africa's oldest working electric locomotives still put in a hard day's work hauling coal from BHP Billiton's Middelburg coal mine to fire the huge boilers at the Duvha power station which can be seen behind the train. The train is returning to the mine with empty side-dump hoppers. The fleet of 10 ex-SAR locos were built between 1959 and 1964. The lead loco is actually red under all the grime. |
