| Soo/Lake States train 12 rolls west as long shadows creep over the yard at Trout Lake. GP35 724 leads 4232 and a fair sized train west. By this date it was obvious to even the most optimistic that the days of Soo Line actually going to it's namesake Sault Ste. Marie were almost over. I made a tremendous effort that last summer to get every train I could on film. The WC would soon be operating here and things like cabooses and full crews would be part of the past. The 724 would go on to a long career on the new WC as one of the GP35's that the Soo let go along with the property when they left Upper Michigan for good. |
