Amtrak No. 3, the Southwest Chief, climbs Raton Pass at Gallinas, Colorado, on the morning of March 6, 2005. Two GE P42DC locomotives sandwich P32-8 (Dash 8-32BWH) No. 511, with a train that includes two deadheading Superliner cars up front.
