| On display in the main hall of The Railway Museum in Saitama City just north of Tokyo, is the first JNR limited express EMU. It was built in 1965, with a maximum speed of 110 kmph and a travel time of 6.5 hours between Tokyo and Osaka. Alongside is a series 455 EMU, used for express through services between 50-Hz AC electrified sections and DC sections on the Tohoku Main Line and the Joban Line. |
