Remarks & Notes

There are still pieces of history out there. An old Duluth, Missabe and Iron Range Railroad P-1 Class Box car sits being used as a storage shed on United Taconite property as it's rots it's way back to nature. Built in 1907 by the Std. St. Car Co. there were seven of these on the Missabe roster as of June 1967. In September 1968 box car 3158 was deemed "obsolete and beyond economical repair" and became surplus and was retired.
