Remarks & Notes
Elegant and powerful 2-6-2 tank locomotive Eb 3/5 # 9 of the former Bodensee-Toggenburg Bahn, built in 1910 by Maffei in Munich, together with eight sisters. When the BT was electrified in 1931, the nine locomotives were on sale for SBB and were used under numbers 5881-5889 to the years 1959/1965. Since 1965, this locomotive has been restored to its former number 9 and is in use for Dampfloki Club Herisau (DLC), but has since 2013 found a new home at DVZO in Bauma. The 75 km/h (both directions) fast locomotive with 1,500 hp is equipped with the necessary train protection systems and can be used practically in the whole Swiss standard gauge network. The color scheme is atypical for a Swiss steamlocomotive and more like examples in Germany.
